An assessment of Culturally Adapted Behavioural Activation for the Treatment of Depression

The purpose of this study is to compare two different ways of treating depression in Turkey. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a commonly used psychotherapy.  Although there are studies providing evidence for the effectiveness of CBT for the treatment of depression in adults, these studies have not specifically assessed the effectiveness of CBT for Turkish speaking patients with depression. A culturally sensitive therapy called BA-M is a new treatment method and to date there is no published study of the effectiveness of BA-M in Turkey.  We do not know which method works best for Turkish speaking adults, so this study will explore the efficacy of CBT and BA-M. The study will also compare the two therapies and explore whether both treatments show efficacy and whether they have different levels of efficacy or not. Fieldwork for the project started in September 2018 and will last until December 2019.

Depresyon Tedavisi için Kültürel olarak Uyarlanm覺 Davran覺 Etkinletirmenin Deerlendirilmesi

Bu çal覺man覺n amac覺, Türkiye'de depresyondaki hastalar覺n tedavisi için uygulanan iki farkl覺 tedavi yöntemini kar覺lat覺rmakt覺r.
