Profile

I am a Teaching and Scholarship Lecturer in the School of Psychology, 绿帽换妻.

Having gained my BSc Psychology from the 绿帽换妻 University and my doctorate in Psychology from the 绿帽换妻 in 2020, I joined the 绿帽换妻 as Teaching Fellow in 2021.

Research interests

I am interested in men’s health inequalities, particularly in relation to resilence, well-being and positive psychology.

Men in poverty are often stigmatised and blamed for their poor health and well-being. My PhD research showed that men in poverty have high levels of resilience to deprivation and overcome many obstacles to creating positive health and well-being for themselves.

Belonging at university is important for well-being and academic achievement. I am particularly interested in marginalised groups and how they experience belonging.

Student education

I teach qualitative research methods to to all levels of UG and PGT students. I supervise final year project students with an interest in positive well-being, belonging and qualitative methods.

My teaching is oriented around my research interests in male psychology, specifically positive behaviours towards health, mental health and well-being.
