Priority Application Process
-
Current On-Campus Housing residents are eligible to apply for the priority application. To take advantage of the priority application process, residents are expected to clear all Housing past due financial balances and conduct tasks. Examples can include Fall 2025 Housing balance that is now deemed as overdue and incomplete conduct sanctions. Examples can include prior term balances that are now deemed as overdue and incomplete conduct sanctions.
-
Current residents get priority for preferred accommodations over applicants who apply through the General Application process. Additionally, the Priority Process allows residents to use the Roommate Group option. Individual room selection within the Priority Process is done by lottery, so the applied date (between February 17 and March 11) doesn't matter for placement. However, residents who participate in both the Priority Application and Roommate Groups will have priority in selecting rooms for their group before others.
-
Priority application contracts are only available from 3:00 p.m. on February 17, 2025 until 11:55 p.m. on March 11, 2025. Should a current resident miss the Priority Application process, they can still contract in the General Application process for all students which begins on March 19, 2025. The $500 Early Bird Sign Up is available for all students who contract before July 1, 2025.
-
Yes, you can request specific roommates during the roommate group process. However, all members of the group must have applied for the priority application, and must belong in the same designated community. For example, a second year student cannot request to live in or be roommates with a first year student.
-
The roommate group process allows current residents to form groups with preferred roommates. All potential roommates must be current residents. Select one leader from the group who will create a group during the application process. The other group members will request to join the group and have to be approved by the group leader. Only the leader in the group needs to select the space for the group.
-
You don’t need to worry about the roommate group process, and can apply on your own. Should you like to meet others to take part in the roommate group process together, Housing organizes Roommate Mixers. See calendar for dates above.
-
While priority application increases your chances of securing preferred accommodations, it does not guarantee placement into specific units or bedrooms. Availability of housing options may vary depending on factors such as demand and capacity.
-
There are virtual tours and in-person tours available via designated showrooms.
-
General application will open on March 19, and all current residents and prospective new residents are able to apply then. General application process includes eligibility for incoming freshmen and transfer students.
-
Please refer to the University Housing websites for important dates regarding the priority application. We may also communicate application status and housing assignments through student university Horizon email or the online housing portal. Make sure to regularly check the website, your student email, and online housing portal for updates.
-
If you have specific housing accommodations or accessibility needs, it's important to communicate them as early as possible. Applicants can self-identify during the housing application and contract. Further, we advise all students to connect with the Accessibility Services Office to request for an intake appointment to discuss options that would best support their needs.
