Outdoor Digital Signs

Cal State East Bay’s outdoor digital signs are an effective way to advertise your upcoming process deadlines, campus event, activity or program to the university and the local community. 

All content must be in compliance with the guidelines below to be approved for posting by University Communications and Marketing. Unapproved content requiring modifications will need to be resubmitted.

Posting Guidelines

  • All content must comply with university brand identity standards.
  • Only announcements promoting university events, programs, or activities will be approved.
  • All advertised events must be open to the public.
  • Only one sign per event/activity/program should run at a time to give all messages equal airtime.
  • All content must be duplicated in full on the university website. The corresponding website must contain the following statement concerning accessibility: “Individuals that require accommodations for this event please contact Accessibility Services by [10 business days prior to event date]. email: as@csueastbay.edu | phone: 510-885-3868.”
  • Operational messages will take priority over promotional content.
  • Content not meeting these guidelines will not be approved. If revisions are required, a new submission form must be submitted.

Scheduling & Duration

  • Minimum notice: 2 business days prior to your desired start date.
  • Recommended notice: 1 week in advance to ensure placement on the requested date.
  • Maximum runtime: 14 days per submission.
  • To extend beyond 14 days, a new request must be submitted.
  • No content may run longer than 28 consecutive days.
  • Requests are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Display Types

ASI Billboard:

· Dimensions: 288px wide x 192px tall
· Supports static images and video/motion graphics

Roadway Signs:

· Dimensions: 480px wide x 288px tall
· Static images only allowed

Content Requirements

✓ Text must be legible from a disance!
✓ Sans serif fonts only for road signs
✓ Maintain strong contrast between text and background; 
✓ Short urls are encouraged

✗ NO QR codes are allowed
✗ NO more than 35 words
✗ NO more than 2 events per sign; submit additional signs for more events

File Formats

Static images

· Format: High-quality JPG, 72 ppi

Video (ASI sign only):

· Format: High quality .MP4
· Length: Exactly 10 seconds

How to Submit

  • Fill out the online submission form linked at the top of this page.
  • NOTE: The form only accepts one attachment at a time. If you're submitting content for both the road signs and ASI sign, you will need to fill out the form TWICE; once for the road signs and once for the ASI sign.
  • Users must adhere to the content and technical requirements listed above. If the content is rejected, users can submit a revised version of their content via email.
